Guidi’s ‘sculpted paintings’
Following several uncommon ‘Mask paintings’ based upon the masked masks that represented a very short creation period following our first trip to Venice, Guidi got the idea to mould objects in plaster: a knife, eggs, shoes (in tribute of Van Gogh’s ‘clodshopper’) and to glue them unto hardboard. He enjoyed himself..... for several days: it was the most fleeting period of his work!
